Picnic Golf Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 21, 2026

Picnic Golf (“Picnic,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is made by Campbell Online Media LLC. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the Picnic mobile app, the Picnic website, and public follow-along links.

The short version

You can score as a guest without creating an account. In guest mode, your scores and saved golf data stay on your device unless you choose to create a public follow-along link. If you sign in with Apple, email, or an enabled phone-number option, Picnic can back up your data so you can restore it on another device.

We do not sell personal information, show ads, process payments, or use cross-app advertising tracking.

Information we handle

Guest scoring data

When you use Picnic as a guest, the app stores your scorecards, player names, groups, saved courses, game formats, handicaps, and related game settings on your device. This data is not sent to our backup service unless you choose to sign in and back it up.

Account and backup data

If you choose optional cloud backup, we use Sign in with Apple, email one-time passcodes, or, where enabled, phone-number one-time passcodes to create and maintain your account. We handle the account identifier supplied by the sign-in method and the email address or phone number used for authentication, when applicable.

We back up your scorecards, player names, groups, courses, saved game formats, profile details, and game settings to provide restore and sync functionality. Account backups are stored through Supabase and are restricted to your account.

Creating a follow-along link is optional. It publishes a snapshot of the round at a public URL that anyone who has the link can open. The snapshot can include player names, scores, course and game information, and other scorekeeping details. Money is hidden from viewers by default, but can be included if you explicitly enable it.

Public share snapshots are stored through Upstash Redis for up to 90 days. You can remove a guest share link from the round settings. Deleting an account also removes its associated public share links.

Product analytics and crash reports

We use PostHog to understand how Picnic is used and improve it. The app sends product events such as starting a round, signing in, or creating a share link. These events are designed not to include player names, email addresses, phone numbers, share codes, or dollar amounts. They can include non-identifying app and game details, such as game format, number of players, and public course information. When you sign in, analytics events are associated with your Picnic account identifier so we can distinguish people from devices.

We use Sentry to receive crash and JavaScript error reports so we can diagnose and fix problems. Picnic disables Sentry’s default personally identifiable information collection and does not enable performance tracing or session replay.

Technical and security information

Our share service temporarily uses IP-address information to rate-limit requests and protect the service from abuse. Service providers may also process standard technical information necessary to deliver their services, such as device, browser, and request information.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide guest scoring, optional backup, and public follow-along links;
  • authenticate accounts and restore backed-up data;
  • maintain, secure, and troubleshoot Picnic;
  • understand app usage and improve features; and
  • respond to support requests.

Service providers

We use service providers to operate Picnic:

  • Supabase for authentication and optional account backups;
  • Upstash for public follow-along snapshots and request rate limiting;
  • Vercel to host the Picnic website and server functions;
  • PostHog for product analytics; and
  • Sentry for crash and error reporting.

These providers process information for us to provide their services. Their processing may occur in the United States or other countries where they operate.

Retention and deletion

Guest score data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or remove the app and its local data. Public follow-along snapshots expire after 90 days unless removed sooner.

You can delete your Picnic account in the app under My Profile → Delete account. This deletes the account, its backed-up data, and associated public share links from our services. Deleting an account does not delete score data that remains locally on your device. You may also contact us through the support page below for help with an account-deletion request.

Analytics and crash-report data are retained according to our configured service-provider settings and as needed to improve and secure Picnic.

Your choices

You can use Picnic without an account, choose whether to create a public follow-along link, choose whether money appears on a public link, sign out, and delete your account. You can also contact us to ask questions about your information or request assistance with deletion.

Children and age rating

Picnic is currently intended for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can address it.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Picnic or our data practices change. We will post the updated policy and revise the “Last updated” date.
